The EGSC Friday Escape moved on to Costa Ballena in an effort to find better underfoot conditions following the recent heavy rains. The course however while in excellent condition on the tees and greens was still very wet on some of the fairways. This made the course play extremely long which was reflected in the scores of the thirteen players, an excellent turnout. Steady play once again from Mike Ryan secured the first place.- 16 out and 16 back to record 32 points. He was pressed all the way by Bill Miller in the same threeball who lost on the last to return 31 points. Perhaps both should have been passed by either one or both of Derek Roach and Jim Adams. They played together in the final 4ball and were each on 30 points stranding on the final tee - the pressure was too much however as both ended in the water and no points were returned for either! Jim Adams secured third place thanks to a back nine of 18 despite that nil return at the last.
