Situated in El Puerto de Santa Maria, the lower left hand point of the ‘sherry triangle', Golf el Puerto is a fairly new addition to the golf offering in Cadiz province. It follows the traditional Spanish model of building a great golf course amongst discrete accommodation projects. As the course is situated on the outskirts of this historically important provincial town, they have plenty of room for both, resulting in a test of golf over 6300 metres long.

The course offers much more of an examination than simply a distance test however. Dog-legs, water (there are 9 lakes linked by streams) and bunkers make this admittedly flat course, designed by Spanish golf and Ryder Cup legend Manuel Pinero, a really interesting place to play.
