06/11/08 Second round results Qualifying School

The leader at Arcos Gardens G&CC after 2 rounds is still Santiago Luna (small image) who shot a 69 (-3), 135 shots total and leading with 2 strokes. A total of 78 players from the 309 in action at four venues across Spain in the Second Stage will progress to The European Tour Qualifying School - Final Stage, which begins next week at PGA Golf de Cataluña in Spain. The top 30 and ties at the end of that six round examination will earn their European Tour cards. The top 20 of Arcos Gardens will move on to the Final Stage on PGA of Cataluña.

At Costa Ballena Golf Jordi Garcia Pinto maintained the lead by scoring a level par 72 after his magnificent opening round of 62 (-10). Pinto is just one ahead of the Italien Reale and American Smith. The best 19 players will go on to the finals on PGA de Cataluña next week. 

At Sherry Golf in Jerez, Julien Guerrier (FR) put himself into the lead with a second round 66 which took him to ten under par 134 and two ahead of Steven Jeppesen (SWE). A total of 19 players will qualify for the Final Stage from Sherry Golf.

Enjoy Cadiz Golf player David Higgins (header image) solved his chipping problems today and shot a very nice 69 with 5 birdies (2 chip-ins) and 2 bogeys and moved from tied 25th place to the 14th place. Tommorrow is antoher day!

Play at Montenmedio G&CC in Vejer de la Frontera was delayed for an hour and half at the start of the day due to fog but by the end of the day, England's Guy Woodman was out in front after a round of 68 took him to 135, nine under par, one ahead of Spain's Manuel Quiros, who also shot a 68, and two clear of Norwegian amateur Anders Kristiansen (70).
